I once had a forum where we would post our new music, and we even posted poems and graphics.
We required our members to give feedback links when they post their thread, they would have to give feedback and post the links to their feedback each time they posted a new thread, this add-on eliminated the need to post the feedback links and works on a credit based feedback system and helps drive more traffic in the feedback forum, another thing that would happen on my forum is users would keep bumping their thread without proving anymore feedback, this feedback system also has a credit system for bumps, so you can drive even more traffic to your feedback forum.
That's one use case I can think of, but it will work on any type of thread that needs feedback, or if you just want more people posting in your forum you can require them to post in another thread before they create their own thread, its not only for feedback forums, it can work for any forum on your site.
